This is a close up version of the one above. I don't like posing because she needs to be holding the cigarette so the arm works as a leading line to it. At the moment it's just there. The blurred depth of field works well because it does mean the focus is on the model, however her face is in shadow. By looking at the background you can see the location.
This image is even closer which unfortunately makes the model look bald. The pose looks natural however the cigarette doesn't look lit. The blurred depth of field makes all the attention be on the model and cigarette however it still shows the location of being on a beach by the pier.
This image looks really natural and relaxed. The lamppost works as a leading lines but also frames one side of the picture. By having the background just white light means all the focus is on the model but also it means the image is really bright without editing. By having the model smoking relates back to my theme of rebellion. I have tried to compose this image by using the rule of thirds.
This image shows how facial expressions either make or break an image. It looks creepy and wasn't the effect I was going for. This image would look better with a straight facial expression. The pose looks natural because she isn't looking at the camera however with that facial expression it still looks posed.
This is the same image as above apart from the model has changed her facial expression. It looks a lot better with a straight face and the cigarette works as a leading line. The only aspect that doesn't work with this image is you can tell that the cigarette isn't in the models mouth, and she is holding it wrong. This image doesn't hold a strong image of rebellion, which is what I need.
This is an extreme close up on the models face. It works really well. I have tried to compose it using the rule of thirds. The cigarette and the bitten nails represent my theme of rebellion and having it so close on the models face gives it an individual and quirky take. If I was to edit this image I feel it would well in black and white.
Here I have tried a completely different angle and pose. I tried to capture the heels however it hasn't work to an effective level. The cigarette and drink link to my theme of rebellion but the backdrop is slightly too nice for what I was looking for. The pose does and doesn't work. The arm works as a leading line and the top half works however the way the legs are posed doesn't look natural and how she would sit. The blue of the drink compliments the blue of the sea and the blue of the sky however it slightly gets lost because it is sat in the models shadow.
Here I have got rid of the legs and feet, however I have accidentally captured a bird flying across in the background. It works well having the drink in the foreground the model in the middle and the sea in the background, it gives the image layers. Once again the background is too nice with the sofa colours and the blue of the still sea. The models tattoo on both wrists doesn't really show, if I was to redo this I would move both wrist so they did show.
Here I have tried a different angle, from below. It hasn't really worked because it does look like the camera is looking up at her. However this image does have a strong representation of rebellion. The wall the model is sat on gives the image a grumpy look. The outfit the model is wearing wasn't what I was looking for- if she was dressed in a short skirt it would be more of the representation of rebellion, however I like how it is leopard print. The blue colour of the drink stands out because there is the harsh sun light going through it and it complements the colour of the sky. The image is slightly too tightly cropped down the bottom near the heels however there is too much background at the top by the sky.
I have tried the up angle again but a slightly tighter crop, but once again it doesn't look effective. The pose of the model looking up at the sky works better however it would look a lot better of the model had bigger to frame the face and make more of a statement of her, because at the moment everything blends into each other component and nothing stands out as a main focus. The colours of this image are quite dull and nothing is really going on in it.
The blurred depth of field works so well that the main focus is on the model. The angle of the image doesn't work. The drink works as a leading line drawing you eye to the models face, however there is nothing that stands out or represents rebellion. The colour of the models skin is slightly too warm and red, this would need to be changed on photo shop.
This is my favourite image from this photo shoot. The blurred depth of field means that everything in the foreground is the main focus. The colour of the bottle is very vivid and bold. The tattoo is showing and you can see the leopard print of the dress. This is a massive symbolism of rebellion in this image. This blue of the bottle is complimented by the blue of the sky however it isn't lost because it stands out against the yellow of the sand. I have composed this image with the rule of thirds.
This image isn't as strong as the one above. The tattoos are the main focus on this image and if I was to edit it, I would use a lighting effect to make these stand out even more. The bright blue of the drink stands out because all the rest of the colours are dull and dark.
